What do you do at Nufloors?

My days usually start with getting our installers off to their jobs. From there I will work on projects that have come in for tenders. At any given time I may be asked to help on the floor with technical questions as I have been active in the install side of things for 25 years working along side Gord, my father. I also handle most of the Hunter Douglas window coverings measures and installs which I really enjoy as every job is different and has its own challenges.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I try to get out and fish, and spend time with my 2 daughters and my wife.

Are you from the Simcoe area?

I live in Brantford and have lived there for 18 years, but because we work in Simcoe, we support other local small businesses in Simcoe and surrounding area.

What do you do at Nufloors?

I am the Secretary Treasurer and do all the financials and behind the scenes jobs.

What do you do in your spare time?

I’m a Wellness Consultant and enjoy helping people improve their health.  I love spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren, quilting and reading.

Are you from the Simcoe area?

We moved to Norfolk County in 2005 and have fallen in love with this area.  It is so beautiful and offers so many opportunities and experiences.

What do you do at Nufloors?

I support the residential and commercial staff, do residential quotes, pick up and deliver material.  I assist the staff to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy golfing but what gives me the greatest joy is having my family around me.  Nothing makes me happier than a good barbecue with my kids and grand kids.

Are you from the Simcoe area?

Liz and I moved here from Onondaga in 2005 and it has been a wonderful experience.  We enjoy the community but also the countryside where we live.  This area has so much to offer and we appreciate the many opportunities and experiences that we have here.

What do you do at Nufloors?

I do a little bit of everything!  Fill in the cracks basically.  Most work is done behind the scenes, whether it be social media, advertising, pricing, keeping things organized, sourcing, finding new ways to operate and grow, wherever help is needed!

What do you do in your spare time?

As a mom of two, homeschooling, keeping a garden, renovating an old house and being part of a family business, I don’t have much free time, but when I get a chance I love to read.

Are you from the Simcoe area?

We live in Brantford, Ontario about 40 minutes away from Simcoe, but our work extends into Brantford on a regular basis, so it remains a good fit.  As a small business we try to do as much of our shopping in Norfolk County to support other independent businesses and keep it local!

"We were moving to Simcoe from the GTA and were looking to support a business in town with some work we wanted to have done to the house we were purchasing. We had a unique situation where we were looking to replace the carpeting in the two bedrooms on the main floor. There was hardwood flooring in the hallway that joined the two rooms. Ideally, we wanted the same flooring throughout that area but to put the same hardwood in the bedrooms as was in the hallway was outside of our budget. We made the trek to Simcoe prior to occupancy of the home to meet with Jennifer. We could not have been more pleased with her service. At the end of the meeting, she found us a solution within our budget that was also aesthetically pleasing. We got a laminate solution that was very close to the look of the existing hardwood. Regarding the install, we were contacted in advance to confirm the date and that they had received the ordered product. The install team arrived as scheduled and did a very professional job with no mess. Could not have gone better! Jennifer went above and beyond all expectations though when she agreed to accept a Costco delivery of 46 boxes of laminate flooring that we were going to self-install in the basement, that unexpectedly was going to be delivered weeks prior to closing of the house purchase. Not only that but they also delivered it to the house on the day after the closing. Who does that?? We highly recommend them and would not hesitate to reach out to them again should the need arise. "If there was an option for a 10 star review Gord, Mike and the staff would deserve it. We just moved to Simcoe and wanted flooring done before moving in. Had a serious issue with our initial supplier Alexanians in Hamilton. Cancelled with them and searched out a local supplier. We liked that Nufloors is a family run business. I went to the store on a Monday, Gord came out on Tuesday to measure, had a quote on Wednesday. Tile came in the following Tuesday and a week later it was installed. Nufloors Simcoe is an independently owned and operated flooring store and has been serving Simcoe and the surrounding area since 1994. Owners Gord and Liz are long time residents of the Norfolk-Haldimand area.  Gord has been a flooring installer since 1973 and when his son Mike was old enough, he joined his dad. Between them they have well over 55 years of experience.

Because Gord and Mike have installation knowledge they are able to give our customers solid advice on your flooring choice. Mike’s wife Heather has wonderful decorating skills and between Gord, Mike, Heather, Jennifer and Courtenay  you will be given honest, practical and beautiful advice because we know that choosing flooring is an important decision and we want to help you make the best choice so that you will be satisfied with your new floors.
