Better resistance.
More expensive sheet vinyl has better resistance to staining, scratches, gouges and tearing — and offers better warranties. Higher-quality vinyl floors also have improved styling and more textural realism.
The wear layer
The wear layer is the top and most important layer of a vinyl floor. It can range from 6 to 40 mils — the thicker the wear layer, the more durable the floor.
Use floor protectors
Use floor protectors on furniture to reduce indentation. The heavier the item, the wider the protector needed.
Pre-work
Depending on the existing floor, removal could be an additional expense. Sub-floor condition may also require additional prep.
