What do you do at Nufloors?

Sales, customer service, administration, new business – pretty much everything – diversity is what I find interesting. Growing up in a family that owned an interior design business on the Fulham Road in London, U.K.; then, after immigrating to Canada moved onto manufacturing commerical supplies of soft furnishings to large retail chains in the U.S.; beocming involved in the flooring business seemed an almost natural fit.

What do you do in your spare time?

Living in Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island gives me the opportunity to enjoy activities such as skiing, kayaking, boating and even performance driving – having a world class track close by!

Are you from Nanaimo?

Born in England my family immigrated to Canada from London when I was a teenager. At the time I was not too happy about the move but it soon became apparent that it was the best decision my parents made for their children… I am a proud Canadian!

My background:

I was initially trained as a car mechanic (British Leyland), but found my real passion at age 22 in selling, building and renting real estate.

Over the years I have owned 3 real estate brokerages, (including my favorite, a discount brokerage called “Realist Realty”) and a property management company.

More recently, I purchased a 35 year established flooring store called Nufloors which was a natural progression in my keen interest for layout & design.

What do you do in your spare time?

My hobbies are working on projects, (fixing things), performance driving and scuba diving.

Are you from Nanaimo?

I was was born & raised in Nanaimo, only 60 plus years ago.

I enjoy nature with my wife, watching sports, hiking, and swimming.

Are you from the Nanaimo area?

No. I grew up in Vancouver and moved to Vancouver Island 12 years ago to gain more time for me and my family. The move has been life changing for the better.
