Hardwood Flooring Trend #1: Wire-brushed (handscraped) hardwood
The wire-brushed hardwood is the top of our countdown list, and it sound just like what it is. In the raw stage, wire bristles are used on the floor, enhancing the look of the wood grain. It is a process that removes the soft wood and leaves only the hard wood underneath. It provides an etched, aged texture to the grain that makes the wood look older and rawer. This is a more expensive look because it requires an extra step to create the character. But if you are looking to create that rustic lived in feel, it will be well worth the extra money. Also a perfect choice if you have a busy family and or pets in your home, as it tends to be a little more forgiving when it comes to scratches showing.
